Welcome to UK Meet Author: Ruby Moone

Hi, I’m Ruby Moone! Thanks for inviting me onto your blog. I’m pretty new to the world of publishing so I am really happy to be here. I live in Lancashire in the north west of England with my husband, and split my time between the day job and writing. I’ve just done out the spare room as an office and it’s looking fabulous with my dark red paint and Marvel comic wallpaper. Very atmospheric and great inspiration! I was an avid Marvel fan growing up so I absolutely love it. If Marvel fails to inspire I often turn to my Georgette Heyer collection and sink into the delights of Regency England. The two are about as far apart as you could get, but between them I never run out of ideas.

This year has been pretty spectacular so far as I got my very first publishing contract! I am working with JMS Books and my debut novelette, Fallen, came out at the beginning of July. Fallen is a Regency m/m romance set in the winter that followed the battle of Waterloo, and follows the story of Oliver and Daniel as they struggle to come to terms with their feelings for each other.

Following the terrible shooting in Orlando, JMS Books asked their authors if they would like to contribute to an anthology with all proceeds to the victims and their families. Fifty authors took part, and all the editing and art work were donated. I was absolutely thrilled to have a short story include in this. Like most people I felt devastated and terribly helpless in the aftermath, so contributing a story was just one tiny way of helping. The book is huge, with fifty stories in it, and comes out on July 30th.

My second novelette, Summer Madness is out on the 13th August and this one is a contemporary story set in a freakishly hot British summertime. I say freakishly as we don’t often get heatwaves here. Following the hot summer theme my third novelette, The Heat of the Moment is out in September. This is a Regency story again and follows the story of Milo who is confined to a wheelchair and never dreams of finding the kind of love that he wants.

At the moment I am working on a full length Regency m/m novel and I hope to have this out early in the new year, but I am off to Greece later in the summer for a holiday so I wouldn’t be surprised if a handsome Greek hero or two crop up somewhere in my writing after that.

Author Bio

My name is Ruby Moone and I love books. All kinds of books. My weakness is for romance, and that
can be any kind, but I am particularly fond of historical and paranormal. I decided to write gay romance after reading some fantastic books and falling in love with the genre, so am really thrilled to have my work published here. The day job takes up a lot of my time, but every other spare moment finds me writing or reading. I live in the north west of England with my husband who thinks that I live in two worlds. The real world and in the world in my head...he probably has a point!
