Hello R.J. Thanks for giving me the chance to pimp my words to you on this sunny day. Yes, I know it is winter and by the time it’s posted it may be blowing a howling gale, but one can always hope.
So, what’s on the agenda for Sue this year?

Coming Soon

I have two stories coming out within 4 days; Light of Day, the follow-up to The Night Porter. Yes, I can write happy endings… maybe. And The Layered Mask, part of the Masquerade series with Lisa Worrall and Patricia Logan.

Light of Day was written because readers wanted a conclusion to Max and Robert’s story. Oh, all right then. Robert gets married, has 5 kids, gets two Oscars and lives happily ever after. Max… doesn’t.
What do you mean that isn’t what you want to read? Oh, what you want to read is Robert doesn’t get married, doesn’t walk out the door, stays with Max and they jump each other’s bones? Is that better?
Um, no…

The first time Max laid eyes on Robert Armitage, he knew exactly what he wanted to happen. But Max was just a night porter and Robert a guest at the hotel before his wedding, and Max knew even as they slept together that in the morning he’d have to send the groom on his way. Max’s heart was broken when Robert left, and so he ran home to Texas. When Robert’s marriage failed, Max waited for Robert to come looking for him, and waited….

A year later, Max’s dreams come true and Robert finds him, but there’s a catch, and Max has to decide if he wants Robert enough to be satisfied with hiding their relationship.

Light of Day is published by Dreamspinner on 1st February 2012: Buy Link

Have you ever wanted to write something for a long time but never had the idea or the nerve? Well, The Layered Mask is mine. For years, I’ve wanted to write my Barbara Cartland story but never had the plot. When Lisa and Patti approached me with the idea about a Masquerade ball I finally had the idea. I’m hoping that although I used the time-honoured tradition of the virgin and the lord, this isn’t a story of chicks and dicks.

Threatened by his father with disinheritance, Lord Edwin Nash arrives in London for one season to find a wife. While there, Nash discovers he is the lamb, the sacrifice of the society matrons, to be shackled to one of the girls by the end of the season.

During a masquerade ball, Nash hides from the ladies vying for his attention. He is discovered by Lord Thomas Downe, the Duke of Lynwood. Nash is horrified when Thomas calmly tells him that he knows the secret that Nash had hidden for years and that he sees through the mask that Edwin presents to the rest of the world.

What will happen when the time comes for Edwin to return home with a suitable bride?

The Layered Mask is published by Silver Publishing on 4th February 2012, together with Behind the Mask by Lisa Worrall, and The Slaves Mask by Patricia Logan. Link to Sue's page at Silver here.

In my head…

I have several other stories planned for this year: Stolen Dreams, where encountering your ex makes life really complicated, and Complete Faith, the sequel to Morning Report. Plus a paranormal, a holiday romance and a series of stories set around a gym.

Hey, I’m busy! See you soon, Sue xx
